A Matka Figure Motif Heirloom in Magenta
Step into the world of Patola, where every thread is dyed before it is woven, and the pattern lives inside the yarn itself long before it ever touches the loom.
This exquisite Rajkot Patola saree is woven in the traditional Matka design with figure motifs, in a vivid magenta multicolour combination, crafted in pure handwoven silk. Rendered through the pure single ikat handloom technique, it unfolds in a row of pot-shaped matka medallions across the body, each cradling a flowering tree and framed by teal, magenta and mustard-gold grounds, with elephants and deer stepping between them, bordered by a rich purple-magenta trellis and a radiant orange-gold zari pallu.
Alternating matka medallions in teal blue, magenta and mustard gold each enclose a slender flowering tree, while ivory elephants and dappled deer graze in the spaces between, rendered in soft pink, cream and gold against the jewel-toned ground. The border deepens into purple-magenta, patterned with small floral medallions and set with dotted diamond borders, before the pallu opens into oval floral medallions on a rich purple ground and finally a broad, radiant orange-gold zari band. Each figure and medallion takes shape through the painstaking resist-dyeing of the weft yarns before weaving, a pure single ikat technique that demands exceptional patience and precision to bring every motif into crisp focus. The saree is finished with a fringe of hand-tied magenta silk tassels, strung along a delicate crocheted edge.

Professional dry cleaning is advised to maintain the ethereal luster of the zari and the integrity of the silk. In every thread of Patola, a legacy of craft is preserved.
A Note on Handmade Beauty
No two handcrafted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.
Every motif tells a story. Every thread carries the artisan's touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
