A Folk Tale from Bolpur
Step into the world of Bengal's handloom heritage, where the natural beauty of pure Tussar silk meets the soulful artistry of traditional Kantha embroidery. This exquisite Pure Tussar Silk Painting Kantha Saree from Bolpur, Shantiniketan is a graceful expression of Bengal's enduring textile tradition.
Crafted in pure Tussar silk, the saree carries a warm beige-golden base bordered by vivid bands of hand-embroidered geometric triangles in magenta, olive, teal, orange and blue, a hallmark of Kantha's folk-art vocabulary. The body opens into a rich slate-blue field carrying a hand-embroidered procession of village figures, worked in mustard-yellow, blue and rose with fine black outline stitching, their arms raised in dance, alongside their attendants standing in quiet formation.
The blue field carries a row of seven kantha-stitched folk figures rendered in mustard, blue, rose and purple, two with arms raised as if in dance, framed above and below by dense bands of multicoloured geometric triangles in magenta, teal, olive, orange and blue, edged with a fine red and navy border. The pictorial, folk-inspired composition reflects the storytelling tradition of Bengal's Nakshi Kantha needlework.

A Note on Handmade Beauty
No two handcrafted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, embroidery, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.
Every motif tells a story. Every stitch carries the artisan's touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
