A Timeless Story from Bolpur
Step into the world of Bengal’s handloom heritage, where the natural beauty of pure Gachi Tussar silk meets the soulful artistry of traditional, hand-stitched Kantha embroidery. This exquisite pure Tussar silk kantha saree from Bolpur, Shantiniketan is a graceful expression of Bengal’s enduring textile tradition.
Crafted in pure tussar silk, the saree is worked in a tone-on-tone ivory palette, its entire surface densely hand-embroidered with a flock of birds perched among leafy branches, spiralling vines, and small flowers. Fine white thread builds up each bird’s form, outlined in delicate black running stitch that picks out feathers, eyes, and foliage with painterly detail.
This all-over ‘tree of life’ composition unfolds panel by panel across the length of the saree, each section framed by a dotted Kantha border. The pallu closes the design with a scalloped arch border strung with small leaf-drop motifs and dotted trim, echoing the fine needlework that covers the body. Worked entirely by hand, stitch by stitch, the saree reflects the meditative, painstaking character of Bolpur’s Kantha tradition.

A Note on Handmade Beauty
No two handcrafted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, embroidery, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.
Every motif tells a story. Every stitch carries the artisan’s touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
