A Riot of Colour from Bolpur.

Step into the world of Bengal's handloom heritage, where the soft, matte texture of pure Bangalore silk meets the vibrant, folk artistry of traditional hand-stitched Kantha embroidery. This exquisite pure Bangalore silk kantha saree is a joyful celebration of Bengal's rural craft tradition, its deep red ground alive with colour from end to end.

Crafted in pure Bangalore silk, the saree is worked in a dense, multicoloured Kantha composition of marching elephants, perched peacocks, and blooming paisleys, set among slender leafy vines. Each motif is built up in fine running and satin stitch, worked entirely in vividly coloured threads - turquoise, mustard, ivory, indigo, and rose - that stand out boldly against the rich red silk.

This all-over folk composition unfolds in horizontal bands across the length of the saree, each row of elephants and peacocks framed above and below by a narrow border of scalloped fans and trailing leaves. The design repeats rhythmically across the body and continues onto the pallu, echoing the same fine needlework that covers the saree's entire surface. Worked stitch by stitch entirely by hand, the saree reflects the patient, joyful character of Bengal's Kantha embroidery tradition.

PURE BANGALORE SILK

SILK MARK CERTIFIED

Color - A rich red Bangalore silk ground, densely embroidered in a vivid multicoloured palette - turquoise, mustard, ivory, indigo, and rose - picking out elephants, peacocks, and paisleys across the entire body.

Technique - Traditional hand-stitched Kantha embroidery, worked in a dense, all-over composition of elephants, peacocks, and floral paisleys arranged in horizontal bands. Each band is framed by a scalloped, leaf-and-fan border, with the same fine needlework continuing onto the pallu - a labour-intensive technique worked entirely by hand.

Fabric - Pure Bangalore silk, known for its light weight, soft matte finish, and easy drape. The smooth red surface of the silk lets the dense, multicoloured embroidery read as bold pattern and colour, enhancing the saree's folk-art appeal.

Craft - A handcrafted pure Bangalore silk kantha saree, its entire surface hand-embroidered in vivid multicolour with elephants, peacocks, and paisleys in a dense, banded composition, framed by scalloped leaf borders - a saree that showcases the lively, painstaking artistry of Bengal's Kantha needlework tradition.

Blouse - An unstitched blouse piece in the same fabric as the saree is included.

The Artful Finish - Ready to wear, with fall and pico neatly done.

Care - Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the silk and the delicate hand-stitched Kantha work.

A Note on Handmade Beauty

No two handcrafted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, embroidery, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.

Every motif tells a story. Every stitch carries the artisan's touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
