A Golden Reverie of Brocade & Silk – Golden Yellow & Red Pure Korvai Kanjivaram Handloom Silk Saree

Regular price

$290.00 USD

Korvai Kanjivaram Handloom Silk Saree with Elephant Brocade - Straight from Kanchipuram, Golden Yellow and Maroon

Step into the world of Kanchipuram silk, where centuries-old weaving traditions meet the timeless grandeur of zari. This exquisite Korvai Kanjivaram saree is a regal study in contrast, pairing a warm golden-yellow silk body with a rich maroon Korvai border and a lustrous antique-gold zari glow.

The golden-yellow body is delicately enriched with an all-over diamond zari texture, scattered with bold gold buti motifs that stand out in relief across the silk. The contrasting maroon borders are richly woven with an ornate vine-and-elephant brocade, while the pallu unfolds into a magnificent field of gold and copper, dense with fine diamond lattice and framed by intricate floral and temple-inspired borders, finished with rich maroon and golden-yellow tasseled fringes.

The interplay of golden yellow, deep maroon, and antique gold creates a richly festive aesthetic, perfectly suited to the grandeur of a wedding celebration.

SILK MARK CERTIFIED

Color - A warm golden-yellow textured body with gold buti brocade, paired with a maroon Korvai border rich with elephant-and-vine motifs. Adorned with a lustrous golden zari pallu.

Technique - Traditional Korvai weaving, a hallmark of Kanjivaram sarees. It is a distinctive technique that gives Kanjivaram silk sarees their iconic contrasting borders and pallus. Woven on a traditional three-shuttle loom, the saree body and borders are created separately in different silk colours, then meticulously interlocked thread by thread by two skilled weavers working in perfect coordination. This intricate joining process creates a seamless, enduring union between contrasting colours, transforming every Korvai Kanjivaram into a testament to precision, patience, and generations of weaving artistry.

Fabric - Luxurious Kanjivaram silk, with a graceful sheen and a beautiful drape that complements the richness of the zari work. Pure Kanjivaram silk sarees use a heavy, high-quality mulberry silk base.

Craft - Korvai Kanjivaram saree from Kanchipuram.

Blouse - An unstitched blouse piece in the same fabric as the saree is included.

The Artful Finish - Ready to wear, with fall and pico neatly done. The pallu is completed with handmade silk tassels, adding a graceful final flourish.

Care - Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and recommended to refold every 3 months. Keep away from perfume, direct sunlight and moisture. Professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the richness of silk. When silk becomes heirloom, it becomes Kanjivaram.

A Note on Handmade Beauty

No two handcrafted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, embroidery, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.

Every motif tells a story. Every stitch carries the artisan’s touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
