A Divine Celebration of Peacocks & Dancing Figures in Srikalahasthi Kalamkari Mangalgiri Silk - Where art is not framed, it is draped.

Step into a charming world of grace and celebration, where majestic peacocks, playful dancing figures, and processions of elephants come together in a richly expressive Kalamkari composition. Graceful gopis, musicians, swans, and blossoming lotus vines create a scene filled with festivity, rhythm, and timeless beauty.

This exquisite Srikalahasthi Kalamkari Mangalgiri silk saree features a luminous beige body, delicately painted with a celestial dancing figure and flowing florals near the pallu edge, framed by borders of processional elephants in rich black. The pallu unfolds into a vivid coral-pink tableau, where a pair of resplendent peacocks take centre stage amid dancing gopis and musicians, surrounded by a charming pond scene of ducklings, lotus blooms, and swans, all bordered by further rows of ornamental elephants and delicate drop motifs.

The artwork is framed by rich sea-green borders with antique-gold detailing, creating a lively contrast against the soft beige body. The interplay of the luminous neutral ground, vivid coral-pink pallu, and vibrant Kalamkari artwork gives the saree a distinctive character,  festive, artistic, and wonderfully theatrical.

Color - A soft beige Kalamkari body paired with a vivid coral-pink pallu, illuminated with vibrant shades of green, mustard-yellow, teal, purple, and pink. Rich sea-green borders with antique-gold detailing bring freshness and elegance to the palette.

Technique - The beauty of Srikalahasthi Kalamkari lies in its extraordinary line work. Traditionally drawn with a kalam, or bamboo pen, the imagery is built through expressive outlines and intricate detailing. Every divine figure, Gopi, bird, flower, leaf, ornament, and flowing vine is carefully articulated, giving the saree the character of a hand-drawn work of art.

Fabric - Mangalgiri silk, known for its elegant texture, graceful drape, natural sheen, and beautiful ability to showcase detailed Kalamkari artwork and rich woven borders.

Craft - A magnificent Srikalahasthi Kalamkari Mangalgiri silk saree, hand-drawn tableau set against an earthy ground.

Blouse - An unstitched blouse piece in the same fabric as the saree is included.

The Artful Finish - Ready to wear, with fall and pico neatly done. The pallu is completed with handmade silk tassels, adding a graceful final flourish.

Care - Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and recommended to refold every 3 months. Keep away from perfume, direct sunlight and moisture. Professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the richness of art and the silk. With Kalahasthi Kalamkari, art is not framed, it is draped.

A Note on Handmade Beauty

No two handpainted sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, texture, embroidery, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the hands that created them. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.

Every motif tells a story. Every stitch carries the artisan’s touch. And when you drape it, that story becomes yours.
