A Gingham Check Weave from Gadwal, Telangana - With Gadwal Silk, heritage is handwoven, thread by thread.

Step into the timeless weaving tradition of Gadwal, Telangana, where cotton once met silk on the loom, and today pure silk itself carries forward a legacy of interlocking borders, gleaming zari, and understated elegance.

This exquisite Gadwal saree is a handloom treasure from Gadwal, near Hyderabad, Telangana, woven entirely in pure silk. Its body is set in a classic black and white gingham check, scattered with tiny gold zari buta that catch the light with quiet richness. The medium-width red border and pallu bring striking contrast, richly worked in gold zari.

The border is framed by a scalloped band of gold zari elephants and peacocks in a delicate arch design, bordered by fine striped guards in gold and red. The pallu is woven entirely in red, layering a diamond lattice ground with the same elephant-peacock scalloped bands top and bottom, anchoring the saree in classic Gadwal grandeur.

SILK MARK CERTIFIED

Color - A classic black and white gingham check paired with a rich red, brought alive with gold zari elephant and peacock motifs.

Technique - Traditional Gadwal handloom weaving, renowned for its interlocking checks and contrast borders. The body is woven in a fine gingham check scattered with zari buta, while the medium-width border showcases a scalloped elephant-peacock band, a hallmark of the Gadwal weaving tradition from Telangana.

Fabric - Pure mulberry silk, chosen for its natural sheen, structured drape, and durability, letting the gingham check and gold zari work stand out with striking clarity.

Craft - A Gadwal handloom masterpiece, woven on the pit loom with a gingham check body and a medium red zari border - a saree that carries forward centuries of weaving heritage from Telangana.

Blouse - A matching blouse piece in the same red silk is attached to the saree.

The Artful Finish - Ready to wear, with fall and pico neatly done.

Care: Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and recommended to refold every 3 months to prevent creasing at the folds. Keep away from perfume, direct sunlight and moisture. Dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the zari and the silk. With Gadwal silk, heritage is handwoven, thread by thread.

A Note on Handloom Beauty

No two handloom sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in the zari tone, weave, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the loom and the weaver's hand behind each piece. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.

Every check is woven with intent. Every motif carries the weaver's rhythm. And when you drape it, that heritage becomes yours.
