A Peacock-Border Handloom Weave from Gadwal, Telangana - With Gadwal Silk, heritage is handwoven, thread by thread.

Step into the timeless weaving tradition of Gadwal, Telangana, where cotton once met silk on the loom, and today pure silk itself carries forward a legacy of interlocking borders, gleaming zari, and understated elegance.

This exquisite Gadwal saree is a handloom treasure from Gadwal, near Hyderabad, Telangana, woven entirely in pure silk. Its body is woven in a soft powder blue, scattered evenly with tiny gold buttis over a fine self-check, giving the field a quiet, understated shimmer, the blue deepening gently into a rich royal blue as it nears the border. The saree opens into a bold border and pallu in deep royal blue, densely woven with a gold diamond lattice jaal and crowned with a row of stylised peacock-mango motifs in gold zari, a hallmark of Gadwal's interlocked-border weaving, giving the saree its striking, regal character. A slender olive-green guard rims the outer edge of the border.

The border unfolds in a rich gold diamond lattice against the deep royal blue ground, framed above by a row of paired peacock-mango motifs in gold zari and a delicate gold floral vine, and finished along the outer edge with an olive-green guard traced in a gold wave and oval medallion pattern. The pallu carries the same grand diamond-jaal weave in blue and gold, bordered top and bottom by the floral vine band, anchoring the saree in rich, traditional Gadwal grandeur.

SILK MARK CERTIFIED

Color - A soft powder blue body flecked with gold buttis, deepening into a rich royal blue peacock border and pallu richly woven in gold zari, finished with an olive-green guard.

Technique - Traditional Gadwal handloom weaving, known for its distinctive interlocked border technique, where the body and the border are woven separately on the loom and joined together with a fine, near-invisible seam, a signature of true Gadwal craftsmanship.

Fabric - Pure mulberry silk, chosen for its natural sheen, crisp structured drape, and durability, letting the gold buttis and the dense zari jaal of the border stand out with striking clarity.

Craft - A Gadwal handloom masterpiece, woven on the pit loom with an interlocked peacock border and a floral guard band, a saree that carries forward centuries of weaving heritage from Telangana.

Blouse - A matching blouse piece in the same royal blue silk is attached to the saree.

The Artful Finish - Ready to wear, with fall and pico neatly done.

Care: Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and recommended to refold every 3 months to prevent creasing at the folds. Keep away from perfume, direct sunlight and moisture. Dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the zari and the silk. With Gadwal silk, heritage is handwoven, thread by thread.

A Note on Handloom Beauty

No two handloom sarees are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in the zari tone, weave, and finish are part of their charm, the quiet signature of the loom and the weaver's hand behind each piece. Colors and textures may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and other viewing conditions.

Every check is woven with intent. Every motif carries the weaver's rhythm. And when you drape it, that heritage becomes yours.
